“Eglise Presbytérienne Camerounaise” In The Centre Gets Four New Shepherds

The solemn consecration service took place at the Messa II Parish in Yaounde on Sunday January 31.

(Mfoundi)-It was an exceptional day t the Messa II Parish of the “Eglise Presbytérienne Camerounaise” (EPC) in Yaounde on Sunday January 31, 2016. The event was the solemn consecration service of four new pastors to the Messa II Consistory of the EPC. They are Rev. Mbo’o Simeon, Rev. Soumbou Jean Jules, Ella Shimone and Nsoa Jacques Gabriel Ulrich. The solemn church service was jointly celebrated by a host of pastors from all the parishes in the Yaounde consistory.

In his sermon, Rev. Onana Koa Didier Jacques enjoined the new pastors to follow the footsteps of Jesus while he was on earth. Drawing from the book of John 7:37-53, he said Jesus is formidable and that nobody has ever spoken like him even those who were before him. He explained that Jesus is formidable in that his speech is characterised by the authority from God. Secondly, his speech was that of wisdom and thirdly that of truth. He further said Jesus is God and man and that is why man has never spoken like Jesus. He called on them to be formidable and to be formidable they have to apply the Presbyterian law and to teach it. The new pastors, according to him, must be formidable pastors like Jesus. He said they have been given the power to preach the word of God, administer the sacraments and exercise the authority of God.

The new pastors were given two fundamental elements the Holy Bible and the constitution of the EPC. He reiterated that the principal work of the pastor is to preach the word of God.  The pastors all prayed that God will them give the strength in the engagements they have taken, help them and give them many good fruits.

The consecration service was attended by the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele, the Minister of Post and Telecommunication, Minette Libom Likeng and the Ambassador of the Central African Republic to Cameroon, Martial Beti Marace. The ceremony equally marked the closing of the general assembly of the Yaounde consistory. The objective was to give a balance sheet of last year and plan for New Year to make a stronger EPC.
