Three-year Emergency Plan: Construction Of Police Buildings Begins

Several construction sites have opened in Yaounde and Douala.

 

The security component of President Paul Biya’s FCFA 925 billion Three-Year Growth Acceleration Emergency Plan is on course. Several construction sites of police headquarter buildings in the cities of Yaounde and Douala have opened. This is line with an announcement made by the Delegate General of National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele, while receiving New Year wishes on January 15, 2016.

He had spoken of the construction of 12 Police Headquarter Buildings, a.k.a. “Hôtels de Police” nationwide and 55 police stations in the cities of Yaounde and Douala. In the Messamendongo neighbourhood along the Nsimalen Airport road in Yaounde, the construction site of the Police Headquarter building has been set up near the 15th District Police Station.

As at Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2 pm, a white-wooden fence had been built around the site and the land cleared for imminent work. Sources in the nearby police station confirmed that work has started. “The executing company is installing its equipment gradually after building the fence,” said a source. According to the contract details, the police building will have four storeys and will be constructed by Groupement SOLPACE-CSC Business within 12 months. The project is funded by ECOBANK Cameroon.
