Obsequies: Last Honours For Police Commissioner Tabouguia

The retired officer was buried in his home town on Saturday, February 20, 2016.

The esplanade of the National Advanced Police College in Yaounde was the venue of the funeral honours for retired Police Commissioner Jean Tabouguia. He died on January 26, 2016, at the Yaounde Central Hospital following an illness.

The atmosphere was gloomy as hundreds of colleagues, relatives, friends and sympathisers thronged the venue to pay their last homage. The farewell ceremony was presided over by the Secretary General in the General Delegation for National Security, Police Commissioner Dominique Baya. Jean Tabouguia was born on August 26, 1967 in Balessing in the West Region. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Law, he was admitted into the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) in 1982 from where he graduated in 1984 with a “Brevet” and appointed Category ‘B’ Court Registrar.

He later joined the police in 1986 where he occupied several posts. Tabouguia hailed from Baham Sub-division in Upper Plateau Division of the West Region. The late police officer was married and father of several children and grand children. His body was buried in his home town of Baham on Saturday, February 20, 2016.
