This follows a reconciliation meeting brokered by the scribe of the sports ministry on February 23^rd.

Calm has finally returned to the cycling family following the decision of striking cyclists to call off their strike action. The cyclists had been clamouring for three million as participation fee for the upcoming cycling tour of Cameroon but following a reconciliation meeting brokered by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, Oumarou Tado, on February 23^rd, the cyclists called off the strike action after having made substantial gains in the negotiations.

As such, every Cameroonian cyclist who takes part in the race will have to bag home the sum of FCFA750.000 as participation fee; FCFA500.000 coming from government and the rest to be provided by the cycling federation. At the end of the race, the cyclists will equally receive a certain percentage of money that will come from sponsors.

After the agreement, cyclists of the Cameroon national team returned to Douala to continue training ahead of the competition. According to the president of the cycling federation, Honoré Yossi, the bulk of the cyclists were back in camp and the last contingent made up of cyclists of SNH velo club were to join the others yesterday. Meanwhile the cycling federation on February 27^th organise a race from Bafoussam to Dschang and back to Bafoussam.

The race which was inscribed in the calendar of activities of the federation for the year will also serve as preparation for the upcoming international Cycling Tour of Cameroon to take place from March 12^th to 20^th. The Cameroonian cyclists are preparing for the race under the guidance of the national technical director, Joseph Evouna and the national trainer, Dieudonné Ntep who are insisting on the spirit of patriotism and discipline.
