North West Reaffirms Call For Biya’s Candidacy

Grand CPDM public rally in Bamenda explains why Paul Biya remains the best choice for presidency.

The event was brief and carried messages that speak in Bamenda, the birth place of the ruling party. Mobilization was total and the message was straight. “We are here to publicly call on President Paul Biya to be the candidate of the CPDM party in the next Presidential elections”. That is how the Coordinator of CPDM activities in the North West, Prime Minister Philemon Yang, summed up the message.

It was an impressive crowd of CPDM militants and sympathizers who filed out to reaffirm the call, after elite of the region recently set the tone with requests for President Paul Biya to consider the appeal of CPDM faithful to continue taking Cameroon forward as their presidential candidate. This time around, the public event at the grandstand of the Bamenda Commercial Avenue rose to expectation. The crowd puller was a demonstration of political force when they later flooded the major street of the metropolis in a grand march.

It was the Section President of Mezam IB, Cletus Matoya who welcomed militants before Prime Minister Philemon Yang told militants that President Biya qualifies to continue to lead the country as the CPDM candidate because he has risen to expectation in ensuring the stability of the country and has turned Cameroon into a huge worksite. He showcased road works across the country, imminent low cost houses, hospitals, schools amongst others.

He said the North West region showcases its share of development projects with President Biya promising and delivering the State University of Bamenda, the imminent construction of low cost houses and a reference hospital in the neighborhood of Bamenda III Sub division, ongoing works on the Ndop-Kumbo stretch of the ring road and the government’s three year emergency plan that will further see the realization of more works on the ring road.

Curtains dropped on the event with CPDM Political Bureau member, Regina Mundi reading the motion in which party faithful in the North West show gratitude and stand solidly by President Paul Biya. North West Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique featured as a guest at the grand rally which CPDM stalwart, Bansi Victor Suhyang described as eventful because President Biya is the best choice to continue leading Cameroon as the incarnation of unity and stability, values that are essential for meaningful economic and social development.
