The consignment was handed over to the Governor of the Centre Region on March 1, 2016 at the 101 Airforce Base in Yaounde.

Cameroonians have not relented in their show of support for Defence Forces engaged in the war against the terrorist sect, Boko Haram, in the Far North Region. On March 1, 2016, close to a hundred members of the Missionary Church of Cameroon for Full Salvation, located in the Manguiers neighbourhood in Yaounde, gathered at the 101 Airforce Base to hand over 50 50-kg sacks of rice, 219 palettes of 1.5-litre bottles of mineral water and 10 cartons of canned fish or sardines to the Governor of the Centre Region, Otto Joseph Wilson.

Led by their President, Clément Waffo, the delegation upheld the role of the Church in the consolidation of peace and its patriotic engagement to support the country’s Defence Forces fighting the terrorist group since May 2014. “Our engagement was first of all spiritual, through prayers to intercede for our Defence Forces and peace in Cameroon,” explained the spokesman of the delegation, Pastor Valentin Ohana Mbea. According to him, the donation was prompted by their spiritual solidarity and materialisation of their faith.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Chair of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Management of Donations to Defence Forces and War Victims, Governor Otto Joseph Wilson hailed the initiative and expressed gratitude, saying the church had joined the queue of solidarity with an appreciable dose of citizenship. He also said the donation was in line with nationwide efforts to join the Head of State, Paul Biya, in his drive to crush the enemy, especially at this time when Cameroon’s Defence Forces are registering victory after victory on the warfront.
