Speaking to the press after meeting with the Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella on March 11, 2016 in Yaounde, Simon Brooks said cooperation between ICRC and the government was very encouraging.

As dusk settled on the capital city, the Consul of Burkina Faso to Cameroon, Mrs Oumou Owona paid a courtesy visit to Minister Mbella Mbella not only to congratulate him on his appointment as Minister but also to pray government to handover a few locally-detained nationals from her country so that the consulate could arrange for their repatriation back to Burkina Faso.
