Agbor Nazi Taku was arrested on March 31, 2016, with a loaded automatic pistol after escaping from a cell in Mamfe.

A notorious armed bandit, who escaped from the police cell in Mamfe in Manyu Division of the South West Region, was arrested on March 31, 2016, arrested by the police in Kumba in Meme Division at about 8:30 pm along the Kumba-Mamfe road. 

According to the Commissioner of the Kumba Central Police Station, Senior Superintendent of Police, Wilson Elong Njumenjikang, Agbor Nazi Taku, before escaping from the police cell in Mamfe on the night of 10-11 March, 2016, stole a police service automatic pistol fully loaded with 10 bullets.  The suspect at the time of his arrest had already used one of the bullets and was left with nine.

The Commissioner recounted that that when Agbor Nazi escaped from his Mamfe cell, a search notice was immediately sent out to all the security forces in the region. He said after serious interrogation, Agbor admitted that when he stole the police gun, he successfully escaped from Mamfe to Buea where he arranged his gang to go back to Mamfe for another robbery operation and also do away with the police officer behind his detention. So, they came to Kumba and hired a taxi to cross security checkpoints in the town. Unfortunately for him, he fell into the police dragnet, while his two accomplices succeeded in escaping.      

As at press time, he was being moved to Buea to face the law. Recently, police in Kumba arrested another gang of suspected armed bandits in a home at Buea Road, Kumba. Led by Mbah Comfort, the suspects were moved to Buea within three days. However, Mbah Comfort was released and has since been seen in Kumba, boasting about her release.
