The Sports Complex was yesterday evening swarmed by thousands of city dwellers to witness a cultural show organized in prelude to the 44th National Day.
The Warda Sports Complex downtown Yaounde was on Wednesday evening transformed into a musical theatre as thousands thronged the venue to celebrate the National Day with a cultural touch. The musical concert dubbed “Unity Cultural Gala” was organised by the Ministry of Arts and Culture as part of activities to mark the 44th National Day on the theme “Defence Forces and dynamic forces of the nation standing together to combat terrorism and preserve peace and territorial integrity”.
Officials of the Ministry of Arts and Culture say it is their own way of celebrating national unity and showing support to the Defence Forces fighting against Boko Haram. With the gates left wide open for the public, popular artists and groups such as Kareyce Fotso, Ayissi le Duc, Ebogo Emeran, Moustik Le Charismatique, Ateh Bazore, Tribute Sisters, Choral Islamic of Yaounde amongst others, the population could not hold their emotions as they danced with the artists in the presence of the Minister of Arts and Culture, Prof. Narcisse Mouelle Kombi and a host of other cabinet ministers.
