Military fine tune rehearsals to showcase discipline, force and loyalty.
From the look of things, metropolitan Bamenda is set to impress during the 44th National day celebrations. Military and civilian rehearsals were scheduled to end on May 18, 2016 with respective participants fine tuning best practices. In effect, the month- long rehearsals stressed on discipline in doing honour to the nation. Most attractive have been military rehearsals with the Commander of the 22nd Motorized Infantry Brigade, Col. Agha Robinson ensuring supervision.
It was against this backdrop that he told Cameroon Tribun about some expected innovations to impress on May 20, 2016. Security has been stepped up with Defense Forces mobilized to, not only march-past but also secure people and property. Col. Agha Robinson says Defense Forces are turning full circle to support government’s efforts in enhancing economic growth. He said May 20, 2016 is another opportunity for Defense Forces to demonstrate discipline, force and loyalty, impress and continue to win the confidence of the population towards the Army and its leadership.
Expected innovations this time around includes, the massive participation of Defense Forces that are expected to march past in new military outfits and gears or weapons in their stated preparedness to be conquerors in the face of any security threats. Customs Officers, some of who were recently trained in Koutaba to enforce border controls, fight contraband and enhance revenue collection will also feature prominently in the march-past.
Away from Bamenda, the Divisions of the North West region are expected to feature pioneer motorized military march past. North West Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique will preside events in Bamenda on May 20. The theme of the 44th National day stresses Defense Forces of the Nation together to combat terrorism and preserve peace and territorial integrity.
