The race will be making an incursion into Gabon and there will be a prologue in Ebolowa and a criterium in Yaounde.

Preparations are already underway towards the holding of the 2016 edition of the Grand Prix International Chantal Biya billed for October 12 to 16. The executive bureau of the Cameroon cycling federation held a meeting to this effect on May 12 which was extended to the technical staff, adopted the race course which for the very first time will be making an incursion to Oyem-Gabon.

The other innovations include the organization of a prologue in Ebolowa and a criterium in Yaounde. The rest of the race course remains unchanged with the first lap expected to take place between Ambam and Oyem on October 13^th. The second lap will be run between Zoetele and Meyomessala the next day. The third lap will be between Sangmelima and Yaounde while the fourth and last lap will take place within the city of Yaounde on October 16^th.

In a related development, the executive bureau also decided to organize the second edition of the nocturnal race christened, ‘Nocturne d’Ongola’ next May 28 in Yaounde and to organize the national championship in a yet to be determined venue on May 19. The various Regional Leagues were asked to organize their respective championships within the period running from May 25^th to June 12^th.

Other issues related to the prevailing situation in the South Regional League where the president was suspended, were examined including the disciplinary situation of the federation with regards to some suspended members like Abena Foe and John Kameni.
