The seven officials were installed on June 3, 2016 by Awounfack Anienou Yves Bertrand, the Secretary General in the Governor’s office.

As part of government’s efforts to rid the Civil Service of corruption, seven recently appointed delegates in the Centre Region have been urged to lead by example. Speaking on June 3, 2016, in the grounds of the Yaounde City Council while commissioning the officials, Awounfack Anienou Yves Bertrand, the Secretary General in the Centre Governor’s office said they must support the war against corruption.

He reminded the new delegates of President Paul Biya’s call on December 31, 2015 that the Public Service should never cease being a vector of development, free of corruption. He charged them variously to reduce road traffic accidents, avoid fraud in title deed transactions, boost income generation and cooperate in facilitating the decentralization process. Talking to Cameroon Tribune, Bassi Ngoa Ze Théodore, the Centre Regional Delegate for Basic Education, said he was conscious of the huge task ahead of him. He called for collaboration from subordinates and aides, expressing joy that his hard work was recognized by his appointment on January 20, 2016.

A senior Teacher Training College teacher, Bassi Ngoa Ze Theodore was formerly Divisional Delegate for Basic Education for Mefou and Afamba in the Centre Region. Born on April 20, 1971, the new delegate is father of four. The other six delegates commissioned were Ombede Nama Alain Romuald for Trade, Obama Bernard Jacques Philippe for Sports and Physical Education, Awono Romuald Robert for Land Tenure, Surveys and State Property and Akono Jean Martial, Head of the Centre Regional Taxation Centre No 2. Meyoua Me Mah Josué René is the Regional Delegate for Transport and Mengue Mbo Alfred, Regional Service Head for Monetary Affairs and Insurance.
