Of all ages, the physically-challenged are attending a three-day exhibition in Bonanjo.

Lack of information and inadequate knowledge of institutions and associations for disabled persons, the need to discuss techniques and end stigmatisation of disabled persons, informed the holding of an exhibition in Bonanjo, Douala. The event brings together little children, disabled persons and the elderly, to show their know-how and disseminate information on the gadgets available for disabled persons, where they can be found, and the existing associations for them.

The Littoral Regional Delegate for Social Affairs, Rose Marie Alphonsine Manyim Goueth Kelbe, pointed out that although the concept was new in the region, her ministry has tried it in Yaounde, with some concrete outcomes. “We want to discourage stigmatization of disabled persons and the elderly in society, and create an avenue for discussion between associations,” Manyim Goueth Kelbe said at the opening of the second exhibition dubbed, “Exhibition for Little Children and Social Action,” FOPSO. It holds from June 8-9, 2016, in the grounds of the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce in Bonanjo, Douala.

For three days, participants will share ideas, exchange contact details with producers, discuss techniques, among others. The event is organised by the Littoral Regional Delegation of Social Affairs in partnership with Health African Children, HAC.
