Obama Campaigns For Clinton

Outgoing President Barack Obama has openly endorsed the candidature of Hillary Clinton as head of the Democratic Party nomination convention.

Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party nomination contender for the November 8, 2016 presidential election in the United States of America is now better assured that the party will during its convention in Philadelphia later this month endorse her candidature as its flag bearer in the poll.

President Barack Obama who was her rival in the race for the party’s nomination in the 2008 presidential election on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 joined her campaign trail in North Carolina and openly declared his support for Hillary Clinton ahead of the party’s convention during which its candidate will be nominated. He had earlier endorsed Mrs Clinton’s candidature on June 9 days after she locked up the delegates needed to secure the Democratic presidential nomination.

President Obama expressing support for Hillary Clinton used one of his favourite lines from his campaigning days to get the crowd "fired up and ready to go", BBC quoted. He told supporters he was counting on them to get Clinton to the White House, stating that it will preserve his legacy he needs her victory. “I saw how she treated everybody with respect, even the folks where weren’t, quote unquote, important,” USA Today quoted Obama as telling supporters.

“That’s how you judge someone is, how do they treat somebody when the cameras are off, and they can’t do anything for you,” Obama is further quoted as saying before outlining the stakes in the 2016 election while stressing Clinton’s economic plan.

Mr Obama’s open campaigning for Hillary Clinton coincided with the decision of the Director of the FBI, James Comey that Hillary should not face criminal charges following investigations. This was because her possible Republican party rival for the White House, Donald Trump has taken up a case against her arguing that Hillary Clinton’s use of private email while as Secretary of State put the entire country in danger.
