Some 600,000 FCFA was also saved in a Dikahe self-help scheme to foot the bills of the sick.

“I am very glad for the new motorbike offered me. I never expected it. It is a great relief to me and my family as I will use it for commercial purposes in order to raise money to meet our daily needs,” said a beneficiary who preferred anonymity. This was after the handover of 12 motorbikes and 600,000 FCFA by the “Comité du Developpement du Dikahe” with the support of Jean Marc Ngoss Mpodol Fayçal Moktar, inventor and National President of the April 48 Vision Party (AVP). The event held at the PK10 neighbourhood of Douala over the week-end.

Ngoss Mpodol said he was motivated to come to their aid as a way of contributing to poverty reduction, job creation and the fight against crime, which can be traced to joblessness. The money was saved in a mutual fund set up by the development committee to help patients foot medical bills. He said, “I want them to turn their backs on easy life like armed robbery, drug addiction, and many other vices. Through such contributions, I want to prove that it is possible to build a society based on solidarity. I understand what poverty, illness and hardship mean because I have lived them. The experience I had motivates me to help the jobless, the needy and the community experiencing a similar situation. I don’t want other people to go through what I experienced.”

Ngoss Mpodol disclosed that he relies on profits from sales of his own technological inventions such as Smartphone, ipad and rifles to assist the needy. Being one who lived in Dikahe community before making his way into the world of technological inventions in China, he has a purpose to see how to bring concrete answers to the people’s daily needs. With “God first, then labour and self” vision in mind, he calls for the creation of many more schools, churches and religious institutions, as well as hospitals in the community.
