France Terror Attack: PM Expresses Cameroon’s Compassion

Prime Minister, Philemon Yang, on July 15, 2016, paid a condolence visit to the French Ambassador on behalf of the Head of State.

The atmosphere at the residence of the French Ambassador in Yaounde on July 15, 2016, was that of mourning following a terror attack in the French North East seaside city, Nice, on July 14, 2016 (France’s National Day). The French and European Union flags at the premises flew at half mast in respect of the three days mourning declared by the French government in honour of over 80 people killed in the Bastille Day celebration attack. It was in this sad atmosphere that the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang, paid a condolence visit to the French Ambassador to Cameroon, Christine Robichon, on July 15, 2016.

The Prime Minister, who was received by a visibly sad Ambassador, expressed Cameroon’s compassion to France on behalf of the Head of State, who had earlier addressed a condolence message to the French President and the people of France. After a brief chat with the French Ambassador, Philemon Yang proceeded to sign the condolence book, expressing the profound sympathy of the people of Cameroon to France. The Prime Minister was accompanied to the residence of the French Ambassador by the Secretary General in the Prime Minister’s Office, Séraphin Magloire Fouda.
