Christened “Delegates of Emergence,” they were warned against politicising their positions.

Divisional Delegates, Service Heads and other personalities ranking as such were installed at the Nkambe Grandstand, on Friday, July 15, 2016, in the presence of a mammoth crowd of family members, friends and well-wishers. The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Donga/Mantung, Ngone Ndodemesape Bernard, described the technical service heads as “Delegates of Emergence” expected to assist the Head of State in his drive towards emergence.

 “To whom much is given, much is expected from you to improve the welfare of the population of Donga/Mantung,” the SDO charged. He said an appointment was simply a call to diligent and selfless service, professional consciousness and the fear of God. He called on the service heads to be the light, collaborate with other services and direct their affairs with professional aptitude. The SDO urged the newly installed officials to assist local councils in the on-going decentralization process. He warned them to leave political party politics out of their offices and rather facilitate the decentralization process.

“Engage in and execute the politics of your service aimed at the development of the State and our communities,” he urged.  “Be steadfast at work and avoid all forms of abnegation and malpractices like absenteeism, late-coming, favouritism, corruption, witch-hunting, blackmail, financial and management impropriety, indecency, nepotism and you can name the rest,” Ngone Ndodemesape Bernard said, urging the officers to believe in themselves and trust in God.

In a brief word of welcome, the Mayor of Mayor, Bantar Paul Ngabir, called on the officers to feel at home in his municipality. Amongst those installed were the Delegates of Public Contracts, Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Agriculture and Rural Development, Public Works; Town Planning and Housing, Small and Medium-Size Enterprises, Women’s Empowerment and the Family.
